A decorative and entertaining staple on many Christmas dinner tables are the Christmas Crackers (and no, we’re not talking to go with cheese!).

Christmas crackers were invented by Thomas Smith in England and first marketed in 1846. Early ones featured a small candy and opened with a small bang!  They were originally called cosaque rather than crackers, as many know them today as being.
